What Is Deutschlandstipendium?
The "Deutschlandstipendium" is a scholarship program in Germany that supports exceptional university students irrespective of their background. It combines private and public funding, providing each recipient with 300 euros monthly for 12 months. Eligible applicants include students enrolled at German universities, with selection based on academic merit, personal achievements, and social engagement.
Who Is Eligible?
You are eligible to apply if you:
1. Fulfill the admission criteria for studies at KLU.
2. Are already enrolled in a degree program at KLU or have been admitted to KLU and are going to start soon.
Application & Scholarship Period
- The application period will start on March 27 - May 31, 2026
- The scholarship period will be Sept. 2026 - Aug. 2027 (12 months)
What Are the Basic Criteria?
The Deutschlandstipendium has a core focus on merit. Only students with very good grades have a chance to receive this scholarship. Study starters and current KLU students will be evaluated separately.
If you are yet to start at KLU, this means mainly the grade of your university entrance qualification or your latest degree is important - to the date of your application. If you already study at KLU, this means mainly your current KLU grade point average (GPA); the GPA will be verified and missing grades from exams will be considered.
Furthermore, to assess the full potential of each applicant, the following criteria will also be recognized if your GPA is good to very good:
- Special achievements, awards, and prizes, as well as previous work experience and internships.
- Extracurricular activities such as voluntary work or societal, social, and political engagement or participation in associations and societies (“Verbände und Vereine”) and religious communities.
- Special personal or familial circumstances.
