KLU has a unique focus on research and teaching: Logistics and Leadership. The faculties research focus is even wider than this. It is spanned through different topics: Marketing, Economics, Finance, Information Systems and Computer Science, Organizational Behavior, Operations Management. As KLU is constantly growing, the research focus will increase even more.
To reflect all these topics in the recognition of the research output, the university has created its own journal review list – the KLU journal list. It is based on recognized lists within the academic community such as UT Dallas, the Financial Times ranking and Jourqual 3. The topics that are not covered by these lists have been added by KLU. To evaluate the top journals, KLU’ Deans of Research contacted experts in their fields and asked for the most recognized journals. These recommendations have been evaluated and included in the KLU journal list.
KLU checks the KLU journal list on a regular basis so that new topics are covered and only top journals are included.
The classification of journals is based on A+ to B publications. For example, a journal belongs to the A+ category only if it receives the highest rankings in all UT Dallas, the Financial Times ranking and Jourqual 3 lists. Professors at KLU are encouraged to publish regularly in highly recognized journals to widen the scientific visibility and output of the university.
