We recommend that students submit their application as early as possible. All fully completed applications received by January 15, are granted a 10% early-bird discount on the overall tuition fees. To be entitled for the discount applicants need to fully complete the online application form and submit it together with their transcript of records, interim transcripts or predicted grades. Tuition fees are charged per semester. A non-refundable deposit of EUR 1,000 is due within two weeks after the receipt of the signed study contract. The deposit will be deducted from the first tuition fee installment.

At KLU we offer scholarships to all students (both international and domestic), which range from 50%-100%. Scholarships are merit-based or need-based. Applicants are asked to answer three questions either in the questionnaire or as a short video.

KLU recognizes that it can be difficult for students from refugee communities to access and succeed in higher education. In order to support these learners, KLU offers full tuition waivers for talented refugee students from Hamburg, who have been admitted to our programs.

Scholarship deadlines:

  • Round 1: January 31st 
  • Round 2: May 31st
  • Round 3: July 31st 

As our university and courses are in English. You must have English fluency.

There are several ways to prove your English language proficiency.
Please note, proof of English proficiency can be submitted by July 31st. Do not wait to apply until you receive your test scores, rather apply early and submit them at a later date.

  • TOEFL "MyBest Scores" (iBT: 90)

  • IELTS Academic (band 6.5)*
  • IELTS Online Academic Test (band 6.5)*

  • IB diploma (for Bachelor's and Master's program)

Language waiver: Residence from the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand do not have to prove their English proficiency. IB students also do not have to submit an english test.
