The takeaway food market has experienced significant growth in recent years. The widespread use of disposable packaging, particularly plastic, in takeaway food has raised significant concerns about the environmental impact of packaging waste associated with this industry. An increasing number of platforms are emerging such that customers can take their takeaway food in reusable packaging. In this paper, we aim to shed light on the dimensioning and time limit decisions of the platform that propose reusable packaging solutions.

Mahyar Taheri is a PhD candidate in the field of Sustainable Operation Management & Logistics at Kühne Logistics University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yann Bouchery (KEDGE), Prof. Dr. Sandra Transchel (KLU), and Prof. Dr. Jan Fransoo (Tilburg) since February 2020. His research is in the field of operational management of reusable packages. Mahyar received his master`s degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Tehran in January 2017.
