With eight locations in Wandsbek, Winterhude, and Hamm, just to name a few, this is a place for a quiet study environment and free Wi-Fi. Feeling up to a nice brunch? Some locations also offer a buffet-style brunch on the weekends that you can enjoy before or after preparing for your next exam season.

2. Braena

If we head up to Eimsbüttel, we’ll encounter a chic café with a lot of buzz. Braena gets quite busy on the weekends as it is usually filled with brunch-goers, but it is a great place to grab a coffee and a pastry during the week if you are looking for a moder, fun café. This place really stands out because of its warm staff and the bright and inviting atmosphere of the place. Try it out if you are looking for something new and fresh!

3. Café 11:11

If you head over to Winterhude, you can grab a latte at the newly opened Café 11:11. Not just a cozy and calm café, Café 11:11 also has very ambient decorations and a wide selection of drinks and snacks for you to study with. Whether you choose a table or prefer to sit in front of the window to get those productive juices flowing, this café is definitely one that provides peace of mind while you work.

3. Espresso House

Looking for another chain that is widely distributed throughout Hamburg? Surely, you’ve seen an Espresso House or two in the city. This chain offers a very communal coworking space, where you can write and study. If you prefer to be in the company of others who are working, but would still like to be able to get into the zone and get your tasks done, Espresso House is waiting for you. Though most locations are in or near the city center, you can also find Espresso House locations in Altona, St. Georg and Rotherbaum, among other neighborhoods.

5. Nord Coast Coffee Roastery

Fresh roasted coffee, coming right up! Located on the historical Deichstraße, Nord Coast Coffee Roastery does not disappoint when it comes to coffee or workspace. This café, which has many nautical elements to it, is the perfect place to have the best of both worlds. Are you a coffee connoisseur? Then, you will have no problem choosing the brewing method that will give you the perfect coffee for your study session. If not, the staff will help you choose the right drink to get your head in the game.

6. Zentral Bibliothek

The central library is another location that has a lot to offer! Free Wi-Fi, plenty of space to work and of course, books! Be sure to stop by the central library if you need a conveniently located study spot that will still offer some nice amenities. The library is equipped with a café to help fuel your session. Want to visit another library in Hamburg? No problem! There are over 30 locations for you to choose from.

7. Hugs and Plugs

Looking for a more structured co-working space? Try Hugs and Plugs! Although there is a fee for a day pass or a membership that allows you access to the space, there are also designated spaces where you can work without a pass or registration for up to 2.5 hours. A fun, colorful café in St. Georg with plenty of good food, this definitely tops our list of designated coworking cafes in Hamburg.

8. Zeit Café

Last, but certainly not least, we come to a “literary atmosphere,” the Zeit Café. Located in the city center, the Zeit Café is where “journalism and coffee culture” meet. Much like the others, this is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, while being able to read, write, study and be surrounded by others who are doing the same. If you are into journalism and publishing, this is a great place to get your next paper done!
