Student Well-Being

At KLU, we want you to thrive in your daily lives in Hamburg

At KLU, we care not just about your academic achievements, but also want you to thrive in your daily lives in Hamburg. Your physical and mental health are important to us and KLU offers a range of services to help you in these areas.

If you have questions on any of these topics, don’t hesitate to contact KLU Student Services.

Every (prospective) student is welcome to our Student Info Point for guidance and assistance.

We offer you first-level support and general information as well as document pick-up service. The Student Info Point is located on the first floor near the bistro.

KLU has on-campus gym facilities for which you can sign up for a small fee. It offers the chance to exercise using some machines for cardio and strength.

We also cooperate with Hochschulsport Hamburg, a collaborative institution among universities in Hamburg to promote sports, physical activity, and health. For a small contribution, they offer a wide range of classes for all ages and experience levels from A for Acro Yoga to Z for Zumba.

When you enter university life, or start your studies abroad, you may face some challenges adjusting to your new environment, getting used to the new learning situation, or handling a personal crisis. Our goal is to assist you in facing existing challenges and preventing potential problems.

We cooperate with an external counseling provider: their workshops and sessions are free and confidential and meant to support you in managing personal problems and situational crises effectively, learning strategies to cope with academic stress, and developing skills for lifelong learning. You find their contact details in our student intranet.

KLU is committed to supporting students with any disability, visible or not, physical or mental. For further information, questions, or concerns, you may contact Student Services. Depending on your inquiry, we will liaise you with the respective team (e.g. with our Registrar’s Office for the compensation of disadvantages in examinations with dyslexia).

As a KLU student, you have access to all counseling services offered by the Studierendenwerk Hamburg with their vast resources and expertise on mental health and barrier-free studies.
