The summer is coming – and KLU is on the move

Brilliant sunshine and balmy temperatures in Hamburg offered ideal conditions for the first KLU community run, the Spring Dash 5KLU, on May 29 and 30, 2021. In a remote competition, students, professors and staff had the chance to test their mettle on a five-kilometer route of their own choosing. In addition, they were free to choose when during the two days they wanted to run.

A running app was used to track their routes and display the times for all participants. Further, Hamburg wasn’t the only venue: KLU runners also competed in Frankfurt, Leipzig and Barcelona. Among the men, Paul Jordan (B.Sc. Business Administration, class of 2021, see header picture), who ran in Barcelona, clocked a fantastic 19:30 min.; among the women, Prof. Prisca Brosi, who ran in Hamburg, finished the race in excellent time: 26:54 min.

The fastest runners took home small prizes from the KLU Campus Store. But the real focus was on having fun within the KLU community, and on participating in a shared event – despite the coronavirus-related need for social distancing and different venues. And the fun continued at the award ceremony and get-together, which was held via Zoom on the following Tuesday.

For all of you who couldn’t join us this time: to be continued…
