SCM Journal List: KLU Among the top 3 universities in Germany

The SCM Journal List 2023 once more ranked KLU among the top 3 universities in Germany for Supply Chain Management research. In the ranking of the empirically focused journals, KLU came in 2nd, right after WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management; among the analytically focused journals, KLU came in 3rd, after the Technical University of Munich and University of Cologne. For Europe, KLU is ranked 8th and made it it into the top 100 for the global ranking.

Once again, KLU is the only university in Germany to be ranked among the top three in both empirically and analytically focused journals. "This result not only proves the excellence and continuous development of KLU's research, but also shows it's unique combination of academic excellence and practical relevance," says Prof. Andreas Kaplan, President of KLU.

KLU's Dean of Research, Prof. Maria Besiou, adds: "The ranking shows the hard work of KLU's faculty and its outstanding development. As a relatively young and comparatively small university, it is great to see that KLU can hold its own in national and international comparisons".

SCM Journal List Ranking

The annual SCM Journal List ranking is based on publications during the prior five years - in this case, 2018 - 2022. Two different rankings are provided. One is based in output on primarily empirically-focused journals (Decision Sciences, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Operations Management, and Journal of Supply Chain Management) the other on analytically-focused journals (Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Management Science, Operations Research, and Production and Operations Management).
