Hooria Sajjad started her PhD program at Kühne Logistics University in September 2023 under the primary and secondary supervision of Prof. Dr. Christina Raasch and Prof. Dr. Maria Besiou. Her research interests lie in digital transformation, gender equality and digital divide, education, human rights and well-being, empowerment and leadership, humanitarian action and logistics, AI, innovation and organizational management, sustainability and digital economy.
Her current research focuses on the potential impact of digital transformation on products, processes and business models of commercial enterprises and humanitarian organizations progressing towards a digitalized economy. Additionally, she explores how these digital changes can influence decision-making within these organizations for stakeholders. By leveraging effective logistic strategies, her work aims to create and provide digital earning, learning and survival opportunities for women as part of human rights, promoting economic empowerment, education, and resilience in their daily lives and in times of humanitarian crisis. This effort is rooted in the principles of gender equality and sustainability, recognizing both genders as active partners and beneficiaries of commercial companies and humanitarian digital innovation actions. Through these insights, she addresses gender-divide and digital-divide disparities, offering essential mental coping strategies as well as financial earning resources to enhance the well-being of women in Pakistan's gig economy. Her research not only contributes to crisis prevention but also empowers women to take on leadership roles in a digitally aware, innovative, and inclusive society.
Hooria did her Bachelor of Science in Applied Management at GC University, Lahore Pakistan focusing on applied business domains, techniques and research methods. She has also achieved an “Academic Distinction Award” from the management studies department of GC University.
