KLU is the flagship project of the Kühne Foundation, the sole shareholder of the university’s holding company, Kühne Logistics University gGmbH. As such, KLU is dedicated to advancing the professionalization, sustainable development, and digital transformation of the logistics industry. Additionally, the university seeks to underscore the crucial role of logistics and supply chain management in the global economy, while emphasizing its importance as a key management function.

Thanks to the ongoing support of the Kühne Foundation and Klaus-Michael Kühne, who contribute more than half of KLU’s annual budget—making tuition fees only a minor component—KLU is able to provide exceptional study conditions. This support allows for an outstanding professor-to-student ratio of approximately 1 to 12, with world-class professors trained at leading global universities and business schools. Additionally, KLU offers personalized career services and professional development to help students secure jobs, often before graduation, and to find fulfilling careers that align with their goals. The university also boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
