Welcome to KLU Bogotá
KLU continues its international expansion with the development of a new campus in Bogotá, Colombia. After its established campus in Saigon, Vietnam, operating since 2025, KLU extends its academic offer – with programs in logistics, supply chain, and business – to Latin American audiences. The Bogotá campus serves as a base for research, teaching, and collaboration in logistics, supply chain management, and leadership across the region. We arrive as ecosystem builders, aiming to blend our expertise with local institutions and co-create tailored solutions for regional demands with an international mindset. Our Bogotá campus enables cross-continental cooperation and exchange, providing a rich learning environment to its future students and researchers.
Life in Bogotá
As Colombia's capital and largest city, Bogotá brings together people from every region of the country. That makes it diverse, multicultural, and full of contrasts. Colonial streets in La Candelaria sit alongside modern business districts, so a morning among historic plazas can be followed by an afternoon in the city's commercial and cultural hubs.
Sitting at 2,600 meters above sea level and surrounded by the Andes mountains, the city offers a stable, mild climate year-round and remarkable greenery. Its parks and eastern hills, crowned by the Monserrate sanctuary, are an easy escape into nature, and the “Ciclovía” (120 kilometers of the city's main roads) gives cyclists, runners, and walkers space to move. The historical spaces are complemented by contemporary creative areas such as the San Felipe Creative District, a former industrial area turned into an avant-garde creative district hosting art galleries, design studios, and emerging gastronomic concepts.
Bogotá's cultural life is one of its strongest assets. From museums – like the Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), the National Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO) – to fairs and music festivals featuring rock, hip-hop, jazz, and salsa, the city brings a rich offer for every taste. The food scene is just as diverse: ajiaco, tamales, or almojábanas, and regional juices and desserts made with native ingredients make meals a daily highlight.
Bogotá is a common starting point for exploring Colombia. The coffee region, the Caribbean coast, and colonial towns such as Villa de Leyva are all within reach of the capital. For KLU students, living here means learning the rhythm of a region whose ports and airports carry much of its trade. That context brings logistics out of the classroom and into everyday life.
For students, the city serves as a vibrant networking hub, connecting them directly with multinational enterprises, key regional stakeholders, and a powerful network for career advancement.

Expanding our Mission: Empowering Future Leaders in Latin America
KLU is further expanding its international footprint by developing a new campus in Bogotá, Colombia. The city is home to El Dorado International Airport, ranked first in Latin America and the Caribbean for cargo volume (Airports Council International). Bogotá has, thus, a strong connection with KLU’s logistics and supply chain management education and research.
KLU was founded in 2010 with a clear vision: to provide the world's best leadership and management education, firmly rooted in an operations mindset. With headquarters in Hamburg, Germany's logistics capital and one of Europe's main logistics hubs, KLU stands out for its expertise in logistics and supply chain, and its application of efficient operations in business. Its quality has been internationally recognized through several awards and accreditations, situating it among the top 5% of business schools worldwide (AACSB accreditation).
KLU brings this academic excellence to Latin America, finding a new strategic location in Colombia. With coastlines on both the Pacific and the Caribbean, the country offers a natural gateway for trade across Latin America, providing an ideal setting for students to see the real-world impact of what they learn in class on trade flows. Bogotá stands out as an academic destination with world-class higher education and the rapidly growing tech and digital innovation scene in the city creates valuable opportunities for business development and entrepreneurship.
KLU is powered by the Kühne Foundation, a Swiss foundation with German roots and a global focus. For 50 years, the foundation has worked for the common good in four areas: logistics, climate, medicine, and culture. As the flagship of the foundation's logistics focus area, KLU contributes to its goal of advancing economic and social development through logistics expertise, education, and research. In addition, KLU maintains close ties with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a key support for our educational purposes in the region.
We are keen to connect with other local partners: universities, companies, and public institutions willing to work with us to offer students the best possible study experience and to develop leaders with a strong operations mindset across Latin America.

Higher Education Powered by Germany
KLU is the first and only academic institution in “Powered by Germany”, the initiative led by AHK Colombia (German-Colombian Chamber of Industry and Commerce) that brings German industry's presence in Colombia under one shared expression. “Powered by Germany” thus facilitates the international presence of KLU in the region by connecting it with industry leaders, government, and the media, and giving our academic community a direct route into Colombia's business ecosystem. Through flagships events, round tables, and partnerships, KLU strives to establish strategic relations to create an ecosystem that connects industries and transforms the world. KLU brings the Operations Mindset “made in Germany” to be applied in Latin America, choosing Colombia as a landing point. Through our Bogotá campus, we offer bilingual, in-person education and research in logistics, supply chain management, and operations. We aim to share our expertise where it creates the most value: with Colombian and Latin American organizations and the people who will lead them.
KLU Students Already Creating a Positive Impact in Latin America
Meet Maria José González and Agostina Altobello, two Latin American KLU alumnae (Class of 2026) who reached the final of the Global Sustainability Supply Chain Student Competition GS3, an event endorsed by the United Nations. Their sustainability project incorporated their learnings on supply chains into local family businesses with an actionable strategy.
