KLU President Elected to the Board of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative

The Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI) has appointed Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan to its Board. As President of Kühne Logistics University (KLU), he expands the international network on the future of leadership in business and society by adding perspectives from the higher education sector.

GRLI brings together universities, businesses, and international organizations to align management education more closely with societal impact, sustainability, and responsibility. The initiative was founded in collaboration with partners such as the UN Global Compact, AACSB, and EFMD.

Andreas Kaplan: Rethinking Leadership

“It is a great honor for me to serve on the GRLI Board,” says Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan. “GRLI connects different perspectives to rethink leadership, with a clear focus on societal impact and sustainability. Considering global challenges, we need to move beyond short-term economic goals and take responsibility for ecological, social, and economic systems. At KLU, our Operations Mindset is built on this approach. We enable leaders to think analytically, make data-driven decisions, and act with a clear understanding of the bigger picture. I look forward to contributing this perspective to GRLI’s work.”

Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan has served as President of KLU and Professor of Digital Transformation since 2023. Before joining KLU, he held positions at ESCP Business School. His work focuses on the impact of digital technologies on business and society, as well as on the development of management education.
His appointment was unanimously approved by the Governance Committee and the Board of GRLI. His term will begin in June.
