What’s in it for You?

This Executive Education program bridges the worlds of business and elite sports. By comparing the leadership styles of renowned football managers with those of successful CEOs, we explore what it takes to lead under pressure, build high-performing teams, and make strategic decisions in dynamic environments.

What does Jürgen Klopp’s motivational approach have in common with today’s most forward-thinking executives? How does Pep Guardiola’s attention to detail reflect agile leadership in business? Through case studies, interactive discussions, and cross-disciplinary insights, participants gain fresh perspectives on leadership, culture, and performance—on and off the field.

Special Guest:
Valentin Altenburg

Insights from a National Team Head Coach

As part of the program, participants will gain exclusive insights from Valentin Altenburg, current Head Coach for Youth Development at the German Hockey Federation (DHB) and one of the most accomplished coaches in international field hockey. A two-time Olympic coach and bronze medalist with the German men’s team at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Altenburg has led his teams to three European Championship titles—twice indoors and once on the field. Since 2014, he has served as a national coach with the DHB, shaping the future of German hockey. In his keynote session, Altenburg shares what it means to lead under extreme pressure, foster a resilient team culture, and make tough decisions when the stakes are highest.

In the evening, participants will have the unique opportunity to join an informal dinner with Mr. Altenburg—an occasion to ask questions, exchange thoughts, and hear first-hand stories from the world of elite international sports leadership.
