Thanh Phan began her studies as a PhD candidate at the KLU in September 2025 under the primary and secondary supervision of Prof. Dr. Henrik Leopold and Prof. Dr. Kai Hoberg. Her research focuses on process mining in operations management.
Prior to graduating from the KLU with a M.Sc. in Global Logistics and Suppy Chain Management, she received a B.A. in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting and Finance. For her Master's Thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kai Hoberg, she studied the accuracy of statistical methods in forecasting demand for durable goods, benchmarking them against machine learning algorithms.
Beyond academia, Phan's industry experience includes three years as a supply chain planner for Terumo Corporation (Tokyo, Japan), along with internships in Oita Bank (Oita, Japan) and Olympus Europa SE & CO. KG (Hamburg, Germany).
