Shizhuo Sun

Shizhuo Sun started his PhD program at Kühne Logistics University in December 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jörn Meissner and Prof. Dr. Arne Heinold. His research focuses on the Machine Learning Algorithms in Logistics Operations.

He studied Industrial Engineering as an undergraduate at Nanjing Iinstitute of Technology (NJIT) and graduated with the first place in his major and as an outstanding graduate.
He completed a Master of Science in Advanced Engineering Management at the University of Birmingham where he specialized on the usage of reinforcement learning in optimisation algorithms.

In addition to his academic background, he also focuses on accumulating practical corporate experience and has gained relevant work experience in the fields of lean industrial manufacturing and multinational logistics. He has also expanded his knowledge of data science by learning programming languages such as C, MATLAB, and PYTHON.
