Katja Linda Thamm joined Kühne Logistics University as a PhD candidate in the field of Supply Chain Management in July 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sandra Transchel. In her research field she will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Katja has over 10 years of professional experience and she works successfully as manager with leading roles in SCM and logistics, focusing on optimization, digitalization, planning and modeling. During her PhD in AI in SCM she will combine real-life problems with academics in artificial intelligence, that have real effect in supply chain effectiveness and efficiency.
Katja joined as one of the university’s outstanding graduates in its M. Sc. Global Logistics Program in 2012. She is KLU Master’s Thesis Award winner of 2012, when she analyzed and optimized an international pipfruit supply chain, a real-life case application in ORM. In 2007, she received the Diploma of Business Administration, specialized in Forwarding, Transport and Logistics at DHBW Mannheim.
