Jens Dorniak started his PhD program at Kühne Logistics University in September 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kai Hoberg and Prof. Dr. Mirjam Meijer. His research is conducted in cooperation with one of the largest commercial vehicle rental companies in Germany, KRONE Fleet Deutschland GmbH, and focuses on deriving the right decisions for optimizing fleet management from the available data and, in doing so, to develop use cases that can be transferred into routine processes in order to make data-driven decisions.

Jens received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the Private Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Technik (PHWT) in Vechta focusing on controlling and sales management. During his Master of Arts in Management Analytics at the University of Mannheim he developed a profound understanding of theories and models that lay the foundation for transforming data into meaningful insights and managerial action. In the program, he took applied as well as methodological courses and engaged in different topics of digital transformation, data analytics and applied statistics.

Prior to joining KLU for his PhD studies, Jens already gained several years of professional experience in the automotive industry. His last job was as a Sales Controller for Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone GmbH & Co. KG with a focus on the service division including spare parts, telematics & digital services and full services products.
