New KLU Merch – New Energy

A new look for KLU is arriving just in time for Welcome Week. The new KLU Merch Shop brings together T-shirts, hoodies, caps and accessories developed with student input and designed entirely in-house by KLU’s Marketing team. Turning a student project into a real product reflects KLU’s Operations Mindset: empowering students not only to develop ideas in the classroom, but to take them forward and put them into practice.

Four students are sitting together on a wide staircase, talking and relaxing in a casual campus setting.

From Capstone project to KLU collection

The new collection and shop design began as a Capstone Project developed by MSc students from the Class of 2026, guided by Prof. Björn Michaelis, and allowed KLU students to rethink what university merchandise could look and feel like today. Their ideas and perspectives shaped a concept designed to work beyond campus: modern, wearable and recognizably KLU. Dr. Jonas Elmenhorst, Head of Marketing: “A big thank you to our students who helped make this possible! Their ideas, creativity, energy and time were a huge part of bringing this project to life. Now, we can’t wait to see them proudly wearing the new KLU merch around Hamburg, Saigon and the world!”

A new way to wear KLU

The shop offers a growing range of everyday pieces, including oversized T-shirts, hoodies, caps, tote bags and other accessories. Alongside the Classic Collection, the Special Edition introduces bolder designs such as “Operations Mindset,” “Personality Hire” and “Caffeine,” adding a more expressive take on KLU identity. Created by and for the KLU community, the collection turns a student project into something tangible that can be worn, used and shared well beyond the lecture hall.
