Kühne Logistics University (KLU) has once again achieved excellent results in the WirtschaftsWoche 2024 Ranking for Business Administration (BWL), confirming its position as one of the most research-intensive universities in the German-speaking world. In terms of research productivity, measured by publication scores per professor in business administration, KLU ranks 2nd among all private universities and overall 11th in the DACH region. In terms of research quality, measured by the average publication score, KLU places in the top 5 within the DACH region.

KLU was one of only three private universities to make it onto the list of the 25 leading business schools in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region), even though its competitors had business faculties that were twice as large on average. With outstanding research quality, high productivity and an impressive overall ranking, KLU continues to demonstrate its strength in both research and teaching in the field of business administration.

Top rankings in research quality and productivity

This ranking highlights KLU's world-class research. Our rigorous, cutting-edge work ensures students gain the latest knowledge and insights in business and management. Our research-driven approach to teaching provides students with a distinct competitive advantage in the job market, an edge that only a select few institutions are able to offer," says Prof. Dr. Andreas Kaplan, President of KLU.

Dean of Research at KLU, Prof. Marianne Jahre, adds: "This achievement once again underlines the impressive level of academic research at KLU. This has been one of the key features of KLU since its foundation and distinguishes it from other institutions".

In the young talent ranking "Top 100 under 40 years", Prof. Henrik Leopold is listed as 54th.

KLU recognized in a series of awards and top rankings

The WirtschaftsWoche ranking is another highlight for KLU in its 14th year. This summer, KLU received AACSB accreditation for the first time, placing it among the top five percent of business schools worldwide. The outstanding quality of KLU's programs was also underscored by the prestigious FIBAA Premium Seal for the KLU Bachelor in Business Administration. The German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) re-accredited KLU for another ten years in 2024, without any further evaluation following this term.

KLU is committed to further strengthening its position and setting new standards in research and teaching. This commitment is also reflected in the expansion of its study programs. The latest addition: The new Master of Science in Business Analytics & Data Science, starting fall 2025.
