Best About My Degree Program:
One of the best things about my degree program at KLU was the people I met along the way—many of whom became lifelong friends and professional contacts. Studying in such an international environment was truly inspiring. My classmates came from all over the world, which made every group project and discussion a dynamic, multicultural experience. And I am still in regular contact with my classmates.
Beyond the academics, KLU provided an exciting mix of events and experiences. From industry guest speakers and networking sessions to unforgettable trips across Europe, my time at university was always engaging. Some of my favorite memories include Beerfest in Stuttgart, international study trips, and the unique opportunity to learn supply chain management (SCM) across three continents: Germany, the U.S., and China.
The Tri-Con program’s balance of theory and real-world application was another major highlight. We tackled case studies, simulations, and hands-on projects that prepared us to solve real business challenges. This global and practical approach gave me the confidence to step into an international career immediately after graduation. I would say that KLU wasn’t just a university; it was a launchpad for my career, equipping me with both technical expertise in SCM and the soft skills needed to thrive in a global business environment.
What’s Best About My Job:
I love what I do. My job is stressful but incredibly rewarding—every day, I wake up excited to go to work.
One of the most fulfilling aspects is people management. Leading a team comes with challenges, but seeing my colleagues grow, develop, and succeed makes it all worthwhile. Coaching them to overcome obstacles and watching them take on more responsibility is one of the most satisfying parts of my role.
Another highlight is working with clients from diverse industries. In my role at Rhenus Logistics, I interact with businesses from pharma, food & beverage, and even oversized cargo logistics. Each industry presents unique challenges, and I enjoy learning about their supply chains and finding ways to add value.
I also thrive in business development—growing the company, launching new products and services, and optimizing costs. Expanding our operations and building stronger relationships in the Asia-Pacific region has been an incredible journey. The combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and problem-solving makes this career deeply fulfilling.
Your Advice to Current Students at KLU:
Be flexible. The more adaptable you are, the more opportunities will come your way. My career path took an unexpected turn when COVID-19 disrupted my plans to study in China, but that detour led me to an amazing opportunity in Bangkok. Stay open to new experiences and markets—you never know where they might lead.
Network, network, network. Use your time at university to connect with classmates, professors, and industry professionals. Attend events, join student organizations, and expand your network beyond your immediate circle. I was part of the KLU Consulting Group, and it helped me build relationships that proved valuable later in my career.
Take initiative. Don’t just go through the motions—engage with your coursework, seek out internships, and challenge yourself. Additionally, KLU’s career services were outstanding. The coaching sessions helped me identify my career goals and create a clear plan to achieve them.
Finally, if you have the chance, explore opportunities in Asia. It’s a fast-growing, dynamic market with immense learning opportunities. It is possible to take on responsibility early in your career, if you are ready for the challenge. I have found that companies in Asia are looking for young, talented and ambitious talent, and the experience working internationally will shape you in ways you can’t imagine.
Your Pivotal Moment Which Shaped Your Career Path:
One of the biggest turning points in my career happened due to COVID-19. My original plan was to work in China after graduation, but travel restrictions made that impossible. Instead, I looked for opportunities in other parts of Asia and found an opening in Bangkok, Thailand.
Originally, I planned to stay for one to two years—but I fell in love with the country, the job, and the challenges it presented. That decision completely reshaped my career trajectory. Instead of following my original path, I embraced the unexpected and found an even better opportunity.
This experience taught me a valuable lesson: sometimes, the best opportunities come from unforeseen changes. Being open-minded, adaptable, and willing to take risks can lead to some of the most rewarding experiences. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.
