Thi Hong Hanh Vo

Hanh Vo will begin her PhD program at Kühne Logistics University in September 2026, supervised by Prof. Dr. Arne Heinold and Prof. Dr. Jörn Meissner. Her research focuses on combining Operations Research and Artificial Intelligence to investigate how optimization and reinforcement learning can support decision-making for urban waste collection under uncertainty, using Ho Chi Minh City as a case study.

Hanh holds a Master of Science in Global Production Engineering and Management from the Vietnamese-German University (in collaboration with TU Berlin), where she graduated first in her class and received a DAAD scholarship to conduct her master's thesis research in Germany. She earned her bachelor's degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM), where she received several merit-based scholarships, including the AMCHAM Scholarship and the AMCHAM Women in Engineering Scholarship.

Before joining KLU, Hanh worked in industrial engineering and supply chain roles at Nike, Intel, TTI, and Colgate-Palmolive Vietnam, and later became a Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Hong Bang International University. This combination of industrial practice and academic research shaped her interest in developing analytical methods that address real-world logistics challenges and contribute to more sustainable urban systems.
