Quoc Thao Nguyen Vo (Emily)

Nguyen Vo (Emily) will join Kühne Logistics University’s PhD program in September 2026 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marianne Jahre. Her research focuses on how management control systems can help organizations balance sustainability and resilience in logistics and operations, especially when facing uncertainty and competing priorities.

Before starting her PhD, Nguyen built experience across banking, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and operations. She held management roles at Citibank and UOB before founding Green Joy, a sustainability-focused social enterprise. Her work in startups and sustainability has received recognition through awards and programs supporting innovation and sustainable development.

Nguyen has collaborated with organizations such as UNDP, USAID, PREVENT Waste Alliance, and the International Sustainability Academy on sustainability and circular economy initiatives. She has also served as a mentor and advisor for projects across Southeast Asia, the US, and Germany, working with NGOs, universities, accelerators, and incubators to support entrepreneurs and sustainable solutions.
Nguyen holds an MSc in Management from KEDGE Business School, France, and an MBA from CFVG, Vietnam.
