Managing Nonprofits: Strategies and Techniques for Organizational Impact
In this module, several topics that help students understand key management issues for nonprofit organizations can be reviewed. These topics can, for example, include the following:
1. Global Trends in the Nonprofit Sector: Roles and functions of nonprofit organizations, prominent leaders in the sector, as well as the biggest issues facing nonprofit policy will be discussed.
2. Basics of Social Enterprise: Innovative business models and entrepreneurial strategies that can be leveraged to create social change and address societal challenges will be reviewed.
3. Art of Crafting Value Proposition: Students will gain skills for designing a nonprofit value proposition and mission statement that is both actionable and value creating.
4. Building Performance-Based Culture: Best practices to identify key metrics and sustain nonprofit performance measurement will be explained.
5.Strategy Planning and Execution: Procedures and tools designed to assist nonprofit leaders and managers to shape and guide what a nonprofit organization is, does and why it does it will be explained.
6. Storytelling, Strategic Communication, and Advocacy: Best practices to effectively roll out new initiatives and anticipate shareholder and media feedback will be introduced.
7. Fundraising and Partnership Management: Students will understand philanthropy and charitable giving patterns.
8. Grant Writing: Basics of grant writing for raising money to fund projects and programs will be discussed
