This module explores the theoretical foundations and practical applications of information systems and big data in the business environment. Students will learn about information and communication technologies, enterprise application systems, distributed systems, and management information systems development and design. Students will understand how information systems support business operations, data storage, retrieval, and decision-making processes. They will explore the components of information systems, including information technologies, business processes and human stakeholders. Through case studies and hands-on projects, students will develop the skills to harness big data and leverage information systems to gain valuable insights and support strategic decision-making.
