Doing Business in Europe

This course is part of the Managerial Skills module.
The purpose of this course is to show you the particularities of European companies and the industry environments in which they do business. In particular, you will develop your awareness for an exemplary set of companies about business models, markets, and challenges of different industries. The real-world examples will contribute toward you gaining a first-hand practical understanding of the subject matter.
This course’s practical approach will enable you to:
(1) have a basic understanding on entrepreneurship,
(2) identify and describe a typical European business setup across different industries,
(3) recognize, reflect, and manage the impact of demographic and cultural diversity on organizations,
(4) have enhanced their cross-cultural competences in respect to European businesses and the diversity of organizations- and of cultures in a global dimension,
(5) determine the driving factors of the European and global economies,
(6) have analyzed and presented an innovative European company/organization/logistic network together with mixed, international classmates and thereby enhanced their oral communication skills and their contribution in cross-cultural team environments.
