Successful Grand Opening of KLU Campus Saigon in Vietnam

Kühne Logistics University (KLU) has officially opened its new Campus in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a milestone in its mission to empower global leaders in logistics and supply chain management. The inauguration event, held on October 28th, brought together representatives from academia, industry, and government to celebrate this new chapter in KLU’s international journey.

A New Hub for Global Learning

Since September, nearly 30 students have already started their studies in the Master’s program in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The campus operates in close collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), a leading institution within the Vietnam National University system. Both KLU President Prof. Andreas Kaplan and Dr. Jörg Dräger, Executive Director of the Kühne Foundation, expressed their gratitude to HCMUT for their strong partnership and commitment to advancing logistics and supply chain education in the region.

“Not every student has the opportunity to study abroad. By coming here, we bring a piece of international education closer to talented students in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This is our commitment to making education more accessible, globally connected, and regionally relevant,” said Prof. Andreas Kaplan.

“We are truly delighted to see KLU’s academic and cultural presence expanding into Asia, and especially into Vietnam. This country offers remarkable potential: a young and ambitious generation, a strategic position in global trade, and a strong commitment to innovation,” added Dr. Jörg Dräger.

Celebrating Partnership and Cultural Exchange

The event featured speeches from the German Consulate Representative, leaders of HCMUT, and KLU’s industry partners. A traditional Vietnamese lion dance marked the start of this new beginning, while guests also enjoyed a touch of German tradition — the Schultüte, gifted as a symbol of joy and new learning journeys.

The Saigon Campus will not only enable exchange semesters with Hamburg but also foster joint research, new academic programs, and close collaboration with the regional business community.

Expanding Horizons

The opening of the KLU Campus Saigon marks another milestone in the university’s global expansion. With further campuses already planned in Africa and the Americas, KLU continues to strengthen its commitment to making high-quality, internationally connected education accessible worldwide.
