Supply Chain Workshop at KLU
KLU hosted the 3-day “Supply Chain Meets Strategy” workshop, which attracted applications from more than 40 universities from all over Germany. In the end 37 applicants were invited to participate in the event to acquire profound insight into supply chain management. Prof. Kai Hoberg organized the workshop in collaboration with high profile partner companies such as Edeka, Unilever, Deutsche Post DHL, and McKinsey & Company.
During the workshop, Prof. Hoberg demonstrated the features of the challenging, future-oriented discipline of supply chain management to the students with the strong support of the partner companies. He said: “It is great to have speakers such as the senior vice president corporate strategy of Deutsche Post DHL or the global master expert SCM of Mckinsey & Company introducing the latest trends to the participants”.
One of the participants, Romi Reudenbach from Düsseldorf, enthusiastically reported: “I loved the ‘Supply Chain Meets Strategy’ workshop. In a combination of interactive theory sessions similar to lectures with practice-oriented talks and a case study, we became familiar with many facets of supply chain management. The KLU campus provided outstanding framework conditions. We also had the opportunity to network with renowned local companies in the sector. The workshop left me with lasting impressions that will accompany me throughout my career.”
Participant Dominik Lamers from Bad Honnef was also inspired to study at KLU: “The 3-day workshop at KLU in Hamburg was great! In the course of various projects combined with theoretical lessons, we were exposed to loads of practical experience. Company representatives also came in and told us about their work. Our last task was to apply what we had learned in a case study. I’m going home with the good feeling that I really achieved something.”
After three days of hard work, the students were rewarded with a traditional boat trip on the Elbe River.
