Your dream is to study in Germany, but your diploma doesn’t exactly match the German Abitur? You’re keen to study in Germany but learning German seems like a major challenge? Worry no more: KLU’s got you covered. Our Preparation Program (Studienkolleg) will equip you with all the necessary qualifications for admission. And the best part: all classes are held in English.
In this program, you’ll take a combination of business courses and introductory German classes (level A2). Once you pass a specific assessment exam, the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP), you’ll be ready to begin your bachelor studies at KLU!
This is your chance to kickstart your academic journey and prepare for a successful future with lucrative job options, not only in Germany but throughout Europe.

My name is Giovana, I am from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Be-fore starting my bachelors at KLU, I took part in the KLU Preparation Program (Studienkolleg in German). The program lasted for one year and it is required by the German government for most international students wanting to study at a German university. In this program, I gained basic knowledge of economics, mathematics, and geopolitics. It was a good introduction to the German approach to academia, and the knowledge I acquired there has helped me during my lectures.
Giovana Brunelli Kornfeld, Graduate KLU Preparation Program
I had already planned to do my bachelor at KLU, so the prep program was a nice glance into the uni. During the year I got really familiar with KLU, students and staff, who are all really friendly and helpful. During the Preparation program we had some excursions to place like the Miniature Wonderland and Chocoversum chocolate museum, which were great fun and also great opportunities to get to know Hamburg. I also have a lot of good memories about our maths and economic lessons. Besides all that, it was the best feeling to finally write and pass the Feststellungsprüfung.
Roman Iliuchenko, Graduate KLU Preparation Program
The program is amazing, it is a perfect opportunity to get to know the university, the city, and just living alone after moving from your parents' house. I genuinely enjoyed the year.
