Kiran Rouven Busch is a PhD candidate in the Operations and Technology Department at Kühne Logistics University (KLU) since October 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Henrik Leopold. His research lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Process Management (BPM), with a focus on developing data-driven and AI-enabled approaches to better understand, automate, and optimize business processes.
Kiran holds a Master of Science in Data Science from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics from the Trier University of Applied Sciences. Beyond his academic career, he has gained diverse practical experience in applying data science to real-world challenges in the automotive, pharmaceutical, and energy industries. This includes his master’s thesis in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where he optimized the output of flow production lines in an automotive facility using advanced data science methods, as well as a visiting researcher position at SAP in 2023, where he contributed to projects at the intersection of BPM, generative AI, and reinforcement learning.
