Duncan Mc Geough started his PhD program at Kühne Logistics University in December 2021 under the supervision of Dr. Johannes Meuer and Prof. Dr. Moritz Petersen. His research focuses on the transformation to climate neutrality in companies and the interface between research and implementation. He is particularly interested in the extent to which companies integrate sustainability concepts such as science-based targets (SBTs), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable supply chain management into their management strategy in order to become climate neutral. Prior to graduating from the Christian-Albrecht-University of Kiel with a M.Sc. in Environmental Management, he received a B.Sc. in Environmental Science and Business Administration at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. During his studies, Duncan spent two semesters abroad at the Canterbury Christ Church University in England and at the University of Helsinki in Finland. His master thesis was written in collaboration with one of the largest stakeholders of global sustainability and conservation, the international Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). His research evaluated the IUCN Green List, a global Sustainability Standard that provides an international benchmark to tackle the environmental challenges of this century, by conducting a global qualitative stakeholder analysis. Futhermore, Duncan founded his own company providing CSR services to multinational and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Additionally, Duncan gained knowledge and practical experience in sustainability consultancy and voluntary CO2 compensatory measures in industry through working with companies, the government, alliances and the civil society.
