The Future of shipping - wind assisted ship propulsion (Video)

Wind assisted ship propulsion technologies since they replace part of the energy normally generated by fossil fuels, appear to have economic and environmental benefits for both the shipping industry and society. What's behind this promising trend? And which hurdles are still there? Dr. Vasileios Kosmas, Senior Researcher at the Hapag Lloyd Center for Shipping and Global Logistics (CSGL) at Kühne Logistics University, shares his insights.

    The Hapag-Lloyd Center for Shipping and Global Logistics (CSGL) of KLU is head of the 'Policy and Viable Business' work package of WASP. Along with ten other partners, it is investigating the regulatory and business challenges that need to be resolved in order to accelerate the uptake of WASP technologies.
